FAQs About This Recipe

How crispy are these fries?

If you follow the directions listed here, these fries will be on the softer side. If you’re looking for crunchy fries, we’d recommend leaving them in the oven for 5 extra minutes or broiling them in the oven for 1-2 minutes afterwards.

How do you store these fries?

To our surprise, these fries reheated perfectly in the microwave a few days after they were cooked. We stored them in a 2-cup glass meal prep container that is airtight.

Tips From the Kitchen

Pay attention to the size of your sliced potatoes: If you want your potatoes to bake evenly and come out similarly, then you’ll want to pay more attention to the size of the baby potatoes when you cut them. For the sake of easiness, we cut our potatoes into quarters. But as you can imagine, baby potatoes come in all sizes  which causes them to cook faster or slower, depending on their size. You can also just ensure you’re cutting the potatoes into similar sized pieces for a more even cook.

Make them cheesy fries: If you’re using glass meal prep containers, you can easily make these fries cheesy by separating them into meal prep containers when they come out of the over. Then sprinkle shredded cheese over the top of each meal prep container and place back in the oven for about 3 minutes until the cheese has melted.
