Can I top these with leftover pepperonis?

The short answer is yes, you can. However, we’ve found any pepperonis that aren’t wrapped in the bacon will come out very crispy. Also, we use a Ninja Foodi as our air fryer and it blows off about 25% of pepperonis placed on top the jalapenos. Your results may vary if you’re using a different air fryer.

What’s the best way to store this recipe?

Any airtight storage container will do! We use 3.4 cup glass meal prep containers for these jalapenos, but you can definitely use something smaller.

Tips From the Kitchen

How to wrap the jalapenos: We’ve found the easiest (and cleanest) way to wrap the jalapeno in bacon is to start with the closed end. This end should be a bit smaller and will allow you to press the pepperonis down a bit while wrapping. Before you begin, overlap three pepperonis so that the one on top is at the bottom and the one in the middle is on top of the one at the top. The jalapenos should be very easy to wrap once you get it started and keep slight pressure on the pepperonis as you move up.

Use cold water to rinse the seeds out: It seems a lot of people scoop the seeds out of their jalapenos after they slice them open. I prefer to rinse the jalapenos under cold water which rinses them out much more easily. After they are rinsed, carefully remove the veins with a knife.

  • 1 Air fryer
  • 4 3.4 cup meal prep containers


  • 4 jalapenos
  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • 2 oz shredded pepper jack cheese
  • 8 slices bacon
  • 24 slices pepperoni
  • 2 tbsp ranch dressing


  • Cut jalapenos in half, lengthwise. Remove seeds and veins.
  • In a small bowl, combine the cream cheese, shredded pepper jack cheese, and ranch.
  • Use a knife to fill the jalapenos with the mixture.
  • Top each jalapeno with 3 pepperonis.
  • Wrap each jalapeno in one slice of bacon.
  • Set air fryer to 325° F. Line jalapeno poppers in a single layer and cook for 15 minutes.
  • Allow to cool, then serve or place in meal prep containers.
