FAQs About This Garlic Parmesan Chicken Recipe
What type of parmesan cheese should I use?
Whenever possible, freshly grated parmesan cheese is the best option. However, packaged grated parmesan cheese will also do the trick if you’re looking for a quicker, easier option. And, if you’re in a pinch, shredded parmesan will also work in this recipe. Just be aware that it doesn’t stick to the meat quite as well as grated parmesan.
Can I use jarred minced garlic?
Absolutely! You can use freshly minced garlic or use the jarred minced garlic, which I’ve always found to be a great, easy substitute. Pre-minced spices can help you to get this meal on the table quicker without sacrificing any flavor.
All I have is salted butter, will that work?
Yes, salted butter will work as a substitute for unsalted butter. If you use salted butter, just be sure to cut back or eliminate the amount of salt added salt in the recipe.
How long will this keep in the refrigerator?
When you store this recipe in an airtight container, it will last up to four days in the refrigerator. Make sure you allow the chicken to cool down after cooking before refrigerating it.
Tips For Delicious Garlic Parmesan Chicken
Cut the chicken: Cutting the chicken breast into bite-size pieces, about 1-inch in size, will help you to cook the chicken faster while making sure that it cooks evenly. When chicken is cut to random sizes, it leads to some pieces being overcooked while others can be undercooked – which you obviously don’t want!
Try it with chicken thighs: This recipe can be a hit using either chicken breast or boneless chicken thighs. Some people prefer the flavor of dark meat versus white and this is a great way to add some versatility to your garlic parmesan chicken while also saving on food costs.
Vary your spices: You can spice up the chicken a bit more by adding some kick with red pepper flakes or adding in some onion powder. The options are endless to help this already tasty garlic parmesan chicken become a new family favorite.
Add some color: Dress up your garlic parmesan chicken by sprinkling some dried or freshly chopped parsley on top of the chicken.
Serve with a side: There are many side dish options that pair perfectly with this garlic parmesan chicken recipe. A few of my favorites are fresh fries, roasted veggies, parmesan green beans, side salads, or simply serving it over rice or pasta.
Timing and batching: I’ve found that the best way to cook this meal without losing any flavor is to brown the chicken in the skillet, then add the garlic once the chicken is nearly finished. If you’re cooking a large amount of chicken, I’d recommend doing it in batches. This allows for proper spacing in the pan, which lets the chicken cook to the perfect golden-brown temperature while browning. If the pan is overcrowded, the chicken will steam and take on a pale color.
